SSA and strings (string orchestra parts available from Carus). Because we had string quartet only available in our 2016 concert, I asked Stephen Smith to add an organ part that incorporated what should have been the bass part in the string orchestra.
The tessitura for sopranos is the most challenging aspect of this very satisfying, substantial work. I advise being careful not to rehearse it in very long stretches.
I changed my mind many times during the rehearsal period about the tempos of the various sections, ending up with dotted half = 50 to start; half note = 92 for the Allegro at measure 28; dotted half = 66 for the Allegro non troppo at measure 60.
