Announcing – a symposium for conductors of women’s choirs – June 2017. As part of Elektra’s 30th Anniversary and VOX Femina’s 20th Anniversary celebrations next season, Elektra and Los Angeles-based women’s choir VOX Femina are collaborating to co-host a symposium for conductors of women’s choirs. Meeting by chance at conferences and festivals, we never quite have the time to get to know each other, and that’s the main goal of our Women’s Choir Symposium 2017. Please join us in Los Angeles June 20 and 21, 2017, just prior to the Chorus America Annual Conference, for what we think might be a “first-ever!”
Our planning model was simple: keep it casual, interactive, and affordable. We are not booking any “headliners” but instead we will share our collective knowledge and experience through interactive sessions. Based in LA, VOX Femina will perform and serve as a lab choir. PS. While we love children’s choirs and the people who conduct them, this event is intended for conductors of changed female voices, from senior high and up. We’re happy to send handouts to others. Just ask!
