Elektra Tour to the UK: June 2023

In June 2023, Elektra Women’s Choir, Artistic Director Morna Edmundson, actor Laara Sadiq, percussionist Katie Rife and five London-based instrumentalists will present the UK premiere of the choir’s new work, The Lost Words: A Spell Book. Audiences in Peterborough, Cambridge, and London will have a chance to hear this 90-minute concert in which Canadian composers Carmen Braden, Alex Eddington, Katerina Gimon, Nicholas Ryan Kelly, Ramona Luengen, Don Macdonald, Monica Pearce, Marie-Claire Saindon, Rodney Sharman, and Stephen Smith have created imaginative settings of the book by the same name. Inspired by the playful magic of Robert Macfarlane’s 20 “spells” and Jackie Morris’ watercolours, this acclaimed production celebrates the natural world, the wonder of words, and a hoped-for “rewilding” of childhood. Elektra will be performing in the following locations:
