The Elektra Board of Directors is thrilled to announce that Cassie Luftspring has been chosen to succeed co-founder Morna Edmundson as Artistic Director.
“We are unbelievably excited to announce Cassie Luftspring as our next Artistic Director,” states Elektra’s President, Stephanie Stephenson. “Elektra undertook an extensive process to identify the right person to steward the choir into this next chapter, and we were so happy to discover that the person we were looking for was already within our membership. Cassie is a phenomenal musician and has been a valued member of our soprano section for several years. Elektra is delighted to share that Artistic Director Dr Morna Edmundson has been appointed to the Order of Canada. The citation from the Advisory Council for the Order recognizes Morna as “an inspiring mentor whose innovative programming, commissioning, and community engagement have contributed a lasting legacy for the choral community,” that has “helped establish Vancouver’s national and worldwide reputation as a choral mecca.” Read full article...
