Winter Sky Malcolm Forsyth Alberta poetry by Inge Israel “Unmarked Doors”, Ronsdale Press, 1992 We laid offerings of silence at one another’s feet then stumbled over them your eyes desperate eloquent prisoners and the moon a forbidden apple tasted and hurled back to the black tree of night bereft of birds stretching to infinity hung with crowns of glinting thorns. All at once the arctic wind stopped time careful not to ruffle wafting wings or quench flaming feet and allowed the Aurora to dance.
