Music, poetry, and projected landscape photography shape the world of If the Earth Could Sing, Elektra’s multimedia concert responding to the climate crisis through art. The program pairs new Canadian choral music with images by renowned photographer Mike Grandmaison, whose work captures the beauty and vulnerability of the Canadian landscape. Experience Katerina Gimon’s Unsung: If the Earth Could Sing, witness the haunting world premiere of Andrew Staniland’s Songs from the Lytton Fire, and conclude with music of hope and renewal, including works by Vancouver singer-songwriter Luke Wallace and Mari Esabel Valverde. Through music and imagery, Elektra invites audiences to reflect on our relationship with the land and imagine a more hopeful future.
