Program Notes:
A choral transcription of one of the most famous orchestral works of the baroque era, the descending bass line of this Aria is a bed over which the other lines rise and fall in beautiful expressions of tension and release.
Conductor Notes:
SSAA a cappella. Here’s a vocalise arrangement of the “Aria” from Bach’s famous Orchestral Suite No 3 in D Major. We played around with the syllables and ended up using a light “doo” for all voices.
