Elektra’s annual Choral Encounters is one of our most popular and diverse events. Up to six guest choirs of all ages join Elektra in a safe and non-competitive evening of singing, learning and laughter. Choral Encounters embodies life-long learning at its best!
Spaces fill up early on a first-come, first-served basis, while also taking into consideration the diversity of the choirs and number of participants. Apply early so as not to be disappointed. Choirs will sing for each other in person. No online option is available at this time. Choirs that have participated two years in a row are asked to sit out a year before reapplying.
Choral Encounters is free for high school and college/university choirs. Adult community choirs pay a nominal fee of $100 plus GST to participate. All participating choirs receive a set of scores for the massed choir selection at no cost.
Choral Encounters 2026 is on Monday, May 25 (7pm)
Pacific Spirit United Church
2195 West 45th Ave (at Yew), Vancouver
Seating for this program is limited to the balcony, as the main floor is reserved for the participating choirs. Anyone not singing will be seated in the balcony. Admission is free, but advance RSVP is required through this link.
The public is warmly invited to observe the rehearsal process and enjoy performances by Elektra alongside these outstanding choirs.
If you have questions or would like to receive email notifications about future Community Engagement Programs for Youth, please contact Elektra.
