Renowned Spanish composer Javier Busto set the traditional Latin text “Ave Maris Stella” for Elektra when he visited Vancouver to conduct the choir in 2003. This “Song of Mary” begins “Hail, Star of the Sea, nurturing Mother of God and ever Virgin, happy gate of heaven.”
