Hovland (1924 – 2013) was one of Norway’s most prolific composers and served as organist and choir director in Fredrikstad for over 60 years.
Conductor Notes:
SSAA a cappella. Conductor Maria Gamborg Helbekkmo introduced us to this fine, energetic a cappella work with contrasting sections. A sturdy, joyful, primarily homophonic texture and some interesting harmonic twists.
