Program Notes:

From the renowned Canadian folk trio the Wailin’ Jennys, and their member Ruth Moody, a simple, new song for voices and piano with a beautiful message.

Conductor Notes:

SSA and piano. This straightforward, inviting new Canadian folk song is performed by the Wailin’ Jennys with acoustic guitar and bass rather than the piano we used. Three soloists cover about half of the piece, and I brought the choir in at the words “This is the sound of all of us”. A very effective opener. We sing it in the D major version.
