Program Notes:

This work, sung in Latin, is from the pen of 20th century organist, composer, and pedagogue, Maurice Durufle. Like the famous mixed choir work Ubi Caritas, also from opus 10, Tota Pulchra Es is based on an established Gregorian chant melody.

Conductor Notes:

SSA a cappella. A classic from the set of four Motets on Gregorian Themes for Chorus, Op. 10, the rest of which are for SATB choir. (The most famous is “Ubi Caritas”). Absolutely one to keep in the repertoire.
